Materials for LED Signs
LED (Light Emitting Diode)
LED is nothing more than a light emitting diode (LED) in other words is a semiconductor light source. The LED lamps are used as markers in many devices and are increasingly used for different types of lighting. It has established itself as a practical electronic component for several years. In 1962, the LEDs emit low-intensity red light, but in modern versions they are available in all the visible, ultraviolet and infrared wavelengths, with very high brightness.
The Function of LED
When a light emitting diode is switched on, electrons are able to recombine with holes electrons inside the device, resulting in the release of energy in the form of photons. This is the phenomenon of electroluminescence and the color of light (corresponding to the energy of the photon) is determined by the energy gap of the semiconductor. The LEDs now have many advantages over the bulbs, including the lowest power consumption and longer life, improved durability, their smaller size and faster switching colors.
Use of LED
The LED (Light Emitting Diodes) are used in various applications such as aviation, lighting of the car in advertising, general lighting, but also on traffic signs. The LEDs gave us the oportunity to have new types of text, video screens, live video and is also useful in advanced communications technology. Infrared LED lights are also used in remote control units of many commercial products, including televisions, DVD players, and other household appliances.
LED Signs
LED because of its many advantages over the simple lighting, such as those of lower energy consumption, longer life, improved durability, their smaller size and faster switching colors, predominantly used in the manufacture of lighting signs in generall. In particular we find in the manufacturing of LED text displays, big and small inscriptions and pharmacy crosses. All these structures are generally composed of the mettal box, LED strips and the necessary power transformers. Hellas LED is a company that has established its business in the field of lighting signs and LED since 1966. We cooperate with and provide technical products only for signs manufacturers. Our partners are amongst the largest in Europe. Contact us to inform you about the quality and wide range of LED materials available for the professionals in lighting and signs.
Materials for NEON Signs
NEON
NEON (Greek word meaning "new") was discovered in 1898 by British chemists Sir William Ramsay (1852-1916) and Morris W. Travers (1872-1961) in London. The gases that then evaporate cooling the air, apart from nitrogen, oxygen and argon are krypton, xenon and neon. The characteristic bright red color emitted by the neon gas when electrically stimulated was immediately noted by Ramsay.
After 1902, his company George Claude, the Air Liquide, started the industrial production of NEON as a byproduct of neon liquefaction of air, and in December 1910 showed that Claude modern neon lighting was based on a sealed tube neon. In 1912, Claude's colleagues began selling neon tubes for billboards, which were introduced in the U.S. in 1923, when two large neon signs were purchased by Los Angeles car dealership Packard. The glow and the red neon advertisement made it completely different from the competition. From then until now, Neon lighting has changed forms and has many applications especially in the labeling.
NEON Applications
NEON is most frequently used in neon signs and produces a bright red-orange light. Although is still referred to as "neon", all other colors are created with the other noble gases, or the different colors of fluorescent lamps. The Neon is used in vacuum tubes, high voltage indicators, lightning arresters, television cathode ray tubes, and helium-neon laser. Liquefied neon is used commercially as a cryogenic refrigerant in applications not requiring the lowest temperature possible with the more extreme cooling liquid helium.
ΝΕΟΝ Signs
The colors of neon tubes and the many advantages compared with ordinary light, such as those of lower energy consumption, longer life, improved durability, their smaller size and faster switching colors, predominantly used in manufacturing neon signs and marking in general. In particular we find in manufacturing neon text screens, large and small inscriptions and pharmacy crosses. All these structures are generally composed of the box, neon tubes and transformers necessary for Neon signs. Hellas LED is a company that established its business in the field of NEON signs and LED signs since 1966. We cooperate with and provide technical products only in neon signs. Our partners are amongst the largest in Europe. Contact us to inform you about the quality and wide range of NEON materials available for the professional lighting and signs.
